UAE Jobseekers Demand Up to 30% Higher Salaries Amid Rising Living Costs

Jobseekers in the UAE are requesting salary increases of 15% to 30% to cope with rising living expenses, particularly in housing, education, and healthcare. Despite an influx of global talent moderating salary growth, professionals in high-demand sectors such as IT, cybersecurity, AI, sales, and fintech are securing salary premiums of up to 50%. Salaries in the UAE are projected to rise by 4.5% in 2024, with over half of companies planning wage increases and 56% expecting workforce expansion. Meanwhile, some expatriates, facing stagnant wages, are adjusting their lifestyles to manage costs.
