Life imprisonment for two men for smuggling 71kg of drugs in Dubai

Two men were sentenced to life imprisonment for smuggling 71.52 kilograms of drugs, including 148,380 Nervigesic capsules, into Dubai. The case began in March when customs officials at Dubai Airport flagged a suspicious shipment from India. Investigations revealed that an Indian and a Pakistani national coordinated the smuggling operation. The court convicted both, imposing a fine of Dh200,000, a life sentence, deportation after serving their terms, and a two-year ban on financial transfers without approval from UAE authorities. The case has been appealed, and the first hearing is scheduled for January 15.
