Are you still shopping with single-use plastic bags?

Dubai Municipality has implemented a robust system to ensure compliance with the single-use plastic bag ban that will come into effect in June 2023.

Taking a proactive approach, the municipality has set up testing centers at the Dubai Central Laboratory (DCL) to analyze samples of shopping bags and ensure their reusability and compliance with the new regulations.

In a recent video released by Dubai Municipality, the testing process is shown showing how DCL evaluates these bags for durability, material composition and environmental impact.

This process helps to ensure that the bags offered by retailers are truly reusable and meet the standards set by Dubai Municipality.
