UAE doctors warn residents about chicken pox as summer approaches

The virus spreads through person-to-person contact and air or droplets, where higher temperatures provide favorable conditions for its transmission.

Recent reports indicate an increase in chickenpox cases affecting both adults and children. The doctors of the United Arab Emirates want the residents of this country to be vigilant against chicken pox as the temperature rises. Doctors explained that chicken pox, which is caused by the infectious varicella-zoster virus, presents with symptoms such as fever, sore throat, and a characteristic rash.

Dr. Fayaz Ahmed, an infection control physician, at Tumbay University Hospital, said, "As summer approaches, chicken pox cases may potentially increase due to various factors associated with the season. People tend to spend more time outdoors. home or travel, which can lead to increased social interaction.

Doctors stressed that schools and kindergartens, where children can easily transmit the virus to each other, may also play a role in the spread of chicken pox during this period.
