UAE Authorities Warn Residents Against New Phishing Tactics

The UAE Cybersecurity Council has warned residents about evolving phishing tactics that rely on social engineering to deceive victims into revealing sensitive information. The council identified six common methods, including email phishing, vishing (voice phishing), smishing (SMS phishing), and scams like baiting and pretexting. Authorities urge individuals to verify messages, avoid suspicious links, and implement security measures such as multi-factor authentication. As part of the "Year of Community 2025" initiative, a new awareness campaign has been launched to educate the public on cybersecurity threats and preventive measures.
