UAE: Laptops, tyres, and goods worth over Dh12 million stolen in major trading scam

Traders in Dubai have fallen victim to a devastating scam where conmen stole goods worth over Dh12 million, including laptops, cashew nuts, tyres, and towels. The scammers set up a legitimate-looking business in Dubai Silicon Oasis, made small upfront cash payments, and gained trust before vanishing after issuing bulk orders backed by worthless post-dated cheques. Victims, including business owners and suppliers, reported losses ranging from Dh52,000 to Dh800,000. An investigation revealed links between the fraudulent company, Dynamic, and other scam firms. Stolen goods were traced to a Sharjah warehouse, but victims were denied access. Police complaints have been filed, with victims demanding the scam be treated as intentional fraud.
