According to Dubai clinics, women are experiencing an increase in ADHD cases as the "silent fight" rages on.

According to medical professionals, women are more inclined than males to ask for help and to dispel gender and age preconceptions around this illness. According to clinics, women make up the bulk of adult ADHD patients in Dubai.

Experts claim that after fighting a "silent battle" with the illness, women are now more willing to seek care because of the difficulties posed by the COVID-19 outbreak and increased awareness.

Dr. Ioannis Delipalas, medical director at Thrive Wellness Center, told The National that there has been a significant change over the past two years, as ADHD patients used to be predominantly male.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition classified into three types: hyperactive and impulsive. careless; And a combination of these two.

Key symptoms of the hyperactivity subtype include the inability to sit still, poor concentration, and excessive talking and movement

Symptoms of the inattentive form of the disease include short attention spans, appearing forgetful, and struggling to stick to time-consuming tasks and follow instructions.

Dr Delipalas said comprehensive medical support is available in the UAE for ADHD.
